Getting There

Location

The University of Calgary Barrier Lake Field Station provides a stunning location for research, teaching, conference and workshop facilities operating year-round. It is located 80 kms west of Calgary in Kananaskis Country.

The camp is located on the east shore of Barrier Lake with access to hiking trails and swimming in Barrier Lake just steps from the facility.

Travel to Camp

There will be a bus travelling to camp on July 21st.  We encourage all campers to travel to camp on the bus, this will give you the opportunity to meet the other campers before getting to camp.

The Bus can be met at the Lions Village, 2528 Bowness Road NW, Calgary Alberta. The Lions Club of Calgary will be providing hamburgers and hot dogs starting at 12:30 and all camp participants and families are welcome to attend. The bus will be departing at 2:00PM.

There is no charge to ride the bus, but we would welcome a $10.00 donation to assist with fuel costs.

Arrival & Registration
2024 Camp Dates:  July 21 to July 26, 2024.

Arrival time is approximately 3:30 PM on July 21 (the bus ride takes approximately 1 hour).

Medical Information
Please complete the medical form attached to this site and bring it to camp with you.
You cannot attend camp without supplying complete medical information.

Departure
Date: July 26th, 2024.

Bus departs at approximately 2:30 PM from the Barrier Lake Field Station on Friday July 26th and arrives in Calgary at approximately 4:00PM (it takes 1 hour).
